Battambang
Battambang
Battambang Province is Cambodia’s second-largest city and was once the country’s leading rice-producing province. Although it was not initially under the control of the Khmer Rouge movement, it became embroiled in the ongoing conflict between the government and the Khmer Rouge after the Vietnamese invasion in 1979.
Battambang is an important hub for the Northwest region, connecting it to Phnom Penh and Thailand. The city is situated close to the Sangker River, which adds to its picturesque setting. French architecture is a notable feature of the city.
Tourists can visit several temples in Battambang, including Barseat Temple, Wat Ek Temple, Ba Nan Temple, and Prasat Snung. Phnom Sam Pov Resort and Boeng Kam Pinh Puoy Resort are also popular natural attractions. Sek Sak Resort is a natural resort stretching along the riverbank and is full of lush greenery.
