Meet local guide Sarou in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
“My goal is to offer more than just a standard tour – I strive to create an unforgettable experience for my clients.”
I’ve been guiding and driving on private tours since 2007 in Cambodia, and I have experience leading group tours in Indochine ( Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos) (15+ years of experience).
I am a teacher and a founder of a local NGO ( Roots Organization in Cambodia)
My hometown is Siem Reap. After I stopped teaching at the public school, I loved to work as a tour guide. I enjoy it so much. I love to meet new people and introduce them to the sights of Cambodia, especially guiding group tours in Angkor Park in Siem Reap.
Our province boasts an abundance of sights, activities, and flavors, and I aim to provide a private tour and an unforgettable experience.
My tours are designed to be private and flexible. They allow you to immerse yourself in local culture along scenic routes, free from the hustle and bustle of large tour groups. I often venture into places inaccessible to tour buses, ensuring you encounter local areas that others may miss. With a wealth of knowledge, I share the history and insights of the areas we explore.
Customization is a key feature of my tours; they can be tailored to your interests and preferences. This is your tour and your time—I’m adaptable! Prepare to witness the ‘must-see’ attractions while falling in love with the ‘hidden gems’ off the beaten path. You’ll be able to savor local foods, exceptional local wines, beers, and spirits.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate my focus on capturing ‘special’ photos based on your interests. I can guide you to spots offering unique perspectives and am known for spontaneously exploring areas that pique your curiosity.
Having traveled extensively across Siem Reap and Cambodia, I appreciate the value of local guides in discovering authentic experiences. I’m passionate about the outdoors.
During the COVID period, I worked with an international organization in Siem Reap in Germany, to meet rural students in Cambodia online and help them learn online. Then, I decided to move to Phnom Penh City to find a new job there for two years. Then, I came back to Siem Reap because Cambodia had reopened. I worked at the sports bar as a manager for six months, then returned to work as a tour guide.
While my tours are typically listed as 3-6 hours, I can accommodate more extended tours for cruise guests or customize experiences for those staying in Siem Reap.
Additionally, I can plan multi-day trips to various areas of Siem Reap and other provinces, such as Battambang, Phnom Penh City, Koh Rong Island, etc. Please reach out for date availability and pricing.
Feel free to message me with any questions or special requests—I’m here and excited to showcase the beauty of Siem Reap. Come explore, experience, and enjoy!

Best regards,

We had such a great tour to Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples with Sarou.
Sarou was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had lots of fun exploring the temples with him. Our driver as well was a lady tuk tuk driver she was friendly, and we enjoyed seeing Angkor and its surrounds by tuk tuk. We would definitely recommend this tour to others! Thanks so much Sarou!
