Everybody has “heard” of the world-famous temples of Angkor Wat, but nothing compares to seeing them for yourself! The massive archaeological site of 400 square kilometres contains over a thousand separate sites dating back to the ancient Khmer empires and would take a lifetime to explore fully. So, what’s the best way to see the fantastic sights around Angkor Archaeological Park? With Jeep Chambak Adventures, of course! Journey through the ancient ruins of past civilisations and explore many other highlights in Siem Reap with a Jeep.

Pick up from the hotel to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat (Angkor Wat’s most significant religious ruins), a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world. Constructed as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, it was gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the 12th century; as such, it is also described as a “Hindu-Buddhist” temple.

Visit Ta Prohm (the Tomb Raider temple and the Jungle temple). Ta Prohm is in the same condition it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor’s most popular temples with visitors.

Visit Angkor Thom (the ancient city). Angkor Thom was established as the capital of Jayavarman VII’s empire and was the centre of his massive building program. One inscription in the city refers to Jayavarman as the groom and the city as his bride.

Visit Bayon (the smiling face temple). The most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and smiling stone faces on the many towers, which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak.
